Last week, the USDA reported the prices for the coming apple season in the Californian Yakima-Wenatchee district. Prices for cartons of storage Red Delicious are $ 18-20 (72-88 a carton), and prices for Golden Delicious vary from $ 14-16 (100 a carton) up to $ 16-18 (72 a carton). The crop is estimated to be about the same as last year’s crop, which amounted 3,48 mln. cartons.

The harvest of Gala is expected to begin in the end of July or the beginning of August, followed by the harvest of Granny Smith in the 3rd week of August. After that, Fujis will be picked from mid September and Pink Lady from the beginning of October.
